Sabato 19 Ottobre – Tour to Alba e Langhe (Piemonte)
Discover Alba, the Capital of the Langhe, which is known for its charming historic centre, picture postcard surroundings and excellent wines and food – Barolo reds, white truffles and many other delicacies.
Join us for a trip to the Italian Langhe (Piemonte) with its rolling hills covered in vineyards, with medieval hilltop towns and ancient castles perched on their peaks. In 2014, Langhe, along with Roero and Monferrato, became an UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural wine-growing landscapes.
Programme Highlights
Guided walking tour of ALBA, a city rich in history, with Roman traces, medieval towers and Renaissance palaces.
Visit to the ALBA WHITE TRUFFLE WORLD FAIR An exhibition area located in the city centre, the perfect place to taste and buy the best truffles from the area as well as other local delicacies. Fine wines from the Langhe Monferrato and Roero will be also on sale.
Guided visit of CASTELLO GRINZANE CAVOUR–the castle is not only a beautiful example of medieval architecture but also holds significant historical importance as it is closely associated with the renowned Italian statesman, Count Camillo Benso di Cavour. Not to be missed alongside the “Museo delle Langhe”, is Piemonte’s first “Enoteca Regionale” since 1967 (with possibility of wine tasting) and the “In Vigna” Open Air Museum.
Visit and guided tour at a Langhe winery where we learn about the winemaking process followed by a wine tasting and local food specialities.
