Associazione Culturale Europea APS in collaboration with the Polish Semester 2025, JRC
Join us for a trip to Kraków and surroundings to discover Poland’s rich history and culture!
Kraków is a fascinating city known for its beautifully preserved medieval architecture, including the iconic Wawel Castle and Rynek Główny, Europe’s largest gothic market square. Its rich history, vibrant cultural scene, excellent cuisine and proximity to significant sites like the Wieliczka Salt Mine and the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec make Kraków a captivating destination.
PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS (all tours in English):
Guided city walking tours to explore Kraków’s historical OLD TOWN and guided visit of WAWEL CASTLE. Kraków’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, enchants visitors with its cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and the bustling market square Rynek Główny, home to St. Mary’s Basilica and the Cloth Hall. Just a short walk away, Wawel Castle offers a glimpse into Poland’s royal history, with stunning architecture and panoramic views of the Vistula River.
Guided walking tour of the former JEWISH QUARTER KAZIMIERZ and the former JEWISH GHETTO. Kraków’s Jewish Quarter, Kazimierz, is a vibrant neighborhood rich in history, featuring synagogues, museums, and lively cafes that celebrate its Jewish heritage. The nearby former ghetto in Podgórze, with sights such as the Oskar Schindler factory, is an impressive reminder of the city’s resilience and commemoration of its history during the Second World War. After its revitalisation, it is now also an area for modern art and culture.
SPECIAL CONCERT at the Kraków PHILHARMONIC CONCERT HALL with Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir and world-famous Pianist IVO POGORELICH performing Fryderyk Chopin’s Piano concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11.
Bus trip to visit the WIELICZKA SALTMINE, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located just outside Kraków. This subterranean world, with its chambers, tunnels, and even an underground chapel, is a unique and fascinating attraction that showcases human ingenuity and history.
Bus trip to visit the BENEDICTINE ABBEY IN TYNIEC, one of Poland’s oldest and most significant monastic sites, offering a glimpse into the country’s spiritual and historical heritage. Its stunning location atop a hill overlooking the Vistula River provides breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere for reflection. The abbey’s architectural beauty, blending Romanesque and Baroque styles, adds to its allure as a cultural and historical treasure. Visitors can experience Gregorian chants, which are performed by the monks and play a significant role in the spiritual and liturgical life of the community.
Full immersion in Kraków’s vibrant dining culture, where traditional flavors meet modern culinary trends. You’ll find cozy milk bars (budget-friendly cafeterias), fine dining restaurants, and trendy cafes scattered throughout the city.
… and much more.
